In addition to all this, the book also stands tall among other romance books of the past because it is written in a very compelling manner.
The truth is that the original German version of Beauty and the Beast was not always as touching and heartwarming as the English translation. While the fairy tale flavor of the book does remain, the flow of the story and the message of hope and love through the characters makes the original version far more appealing. Angela Lansbury is a talented writer and she did create a very likable character in the book. The readers will learn much about the character through the text and they will connect with the young, orphaned prince.
